I am a 48 year old father of five and have always put my family's needs above those of my own. I have a decent job but keeping a roof over my family's head and paying our bills is taking up all of our resources. I got married 5 years ago and my wife's ex has been a deadbeat dad and owes more than $50,000 (the support for my two stepchildren is non existent) and I carry them on my insurance as well. I have good insurance but cannot take food out of my family's mouth to care for myself. Due to acid reflux and soft teeth (hereditary), I have three teeth that are causing me excruciating pain. In addition, the psychological toll on me because of my appearance is almost too much to bear. I've never been really vain but I am embarrassed and ashamed of the current state of my teeth. Constant agonizing pain feels like it is sucking the life out of me. It's a miserable existence day to day, but I try not to let on to my wife and kids. Again, I have insurance but can't come up with a way to get the money it would take. Because of my wife's ex being a deadbeat I have sold everything of value that I own and sadly its still not enough. Even now I have ten or so things listed on EBay and constantly doing side jobs, unfortunately its still not enough to pay the bills, let alone have anything leftover for the dental care I so desperately need. I'd be OK if all my teeth were pulled and I had to get dentures, just want desperately to be out of pain and presentable in some way. My self esteem is about zero and I'd have never thought I would be in a position like this. Any help....suggestions, etc. Would be a blessing. Thanks for taking the time to read....
